Early Morning Learnings - How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnigie

I am sitting in a learning group early morning 5.30am Dubai, along with like-minded learners.

A Young committed chap from Singapore is sharing his review on the book “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnigie – One of the most best-selling author and book – 1936.

Like how the book name is so interesting, same interest starts from his very first slide.

What is life?

The whole book is about how to handle people, how to win people, how to change people without giving offense. It is a must read if you are student, professional or a leader.

The author Carnegie's main focus is on interpersonal skills, effective communication and being a successful salesperson.

He is very well known for his other famous book – “Stop worrying and Start Living”.

He is so successful in training people as  public speakers, and he was loving that work.

In this How to win people book, he talks about below topics in detail:

- Fundamental techniques in handling people: 

- 6 Ways to make people like you

      - How to win people to your way of thinking

      - How to change people without giving offense or Arousing resentment

       In Today's world, I can see how much this book has been influenced and how many theories had been revolved around this basic concepts. 

      This has been used majorly for Communication excellence and building relationships. 

      Some of his famous books are :

      - The Quick and Easy way to Effective Speaking 

      - Lincoln The Unkown

       There is no doubt that he has placed a huge mark in this modern world of theories. IF he has been living now, he would be happy to see that his words are living now as great tools of excellence. 

I found this book very useful and interesting to see how the author had foreseen the current situation which is such a boon with leaders i.e. Relationship management and servant leadership method.

மெல்ல மெல்ல மிதந்து வந்து 
என்னுள் நுழைந்து போகிறாய்,
எனைத் தின்னப்  பார்க்கிறாய் 
கொஞ்சம் பொறுத்து, 
நீ அறியா ஒன்றை கேள்... 

என் தலை ஏறினாலும் 
சிரித்தே விரட்டும் என் புன்னகை  (நீ)  (2)
தூசாய் தட்டும் என் கை (உனை) (2)

பின்,
நீ வீழப்போவது என் அடியில்,

அறிய மலர்

செந்தாமரையையும் வெண்தாமரையையும்
மிகையாகப் பார்த்து வளர்ந்து வரும்
உன் கருவறை நாட்களில்,

அதன் கதை அறிவாயோ உயிரே!

என் சிறு வயதில் ஆற்றில் நீராடுகையில்
தாமரையின் தண்டினைப் பிடித்து பழகியதும்,
அதை பறித்து உண்டதும், இன்றும்
- என் கண்களில்,

நவராத்திரியில் எனதம்மா
இலகுவாக தாமரை இலைகளை பறித்து
அன்னை சரஸ்வதிக்கும், லட்சுமிக்கும்
விரித்து வைக்கையில் - அதன் அழகே அழகு!

இன்னவராத்திரியில் நீயும் அத்தருணத்தைப் பார்த்து
மெய் சிலிர்த்து தானே போனாய் - அப்பந்த பிணைப்பில்!

இந்த அழகிய மலரின் வரலாறு தெரியுமா? -
தண்ணீரில் மண்ணோடு, சகதியோடு இருந்தாலும்
தானாக பூத்து, மலர வழி தேடிக் கொள்ளுமாம் !

தனக்கான சூர்யவெளிச்சத்தை, தானே
தேடிக்கொள்ளும் வாழ்வாவாதி!

சேற்றில் முளைத்த செந்தாமரை - எனினும்
அழகோ குணமோ மாறுவதே இல்லை!

"தாமரை இலை மேல் நீர் போல்" -
இம்மலரில் நீர் பட்டால்,
ஒட்டாது ஓடும் - வாழ்வில் எத்தகு
பாடத்தை உணர்த்துகிறது பார்த்தாயா?

இன்றும் பலருக்கு மிகப்பெரிய கேள்வி -
எப்படி இச்சிறு மலருக்குள்
ஒட்டுமொத்த வாழ்வியல் சிந்தனையும்
உள் அடக்கம்???

உறுதியற்ற நம்பிக்கை,
இலக்கை நோக்கிய பயணம்,
அழகான புதுப்பிப்புகள்
- நீ வாழும் நாட்களில் இவ்வனைத்தும் பெற
இம்மலரின் ஆசியுடன் வாழ்த்துகிறேன்!

எனைக் கருவாக தேர்ந்தெடுத்து
இவ்வுலகிற்கு எதை உணர்த்த
ஜனித்தாயோ? - அறியேன்...

அங்கனமே உணர்ந்தறிய
என் அன்புப் பரிசு

உலக கவிதை தினம்

முதல் காதல் 

(Version 1.1)

பதின் வயதில் பற்றத் தொடங்கியது 

அந்தக் காதல் - சற்றே தயக்கம் 

எனினும் மகிழ்ச்சியில் 

திக்குமுக்காடி போனேன் !

என்னை அறியவும் மறக்கவும் 

கற்றேன்!

இடையிடையே வந்து மறந்த 

மற்ற காதல்களில் - அதன் 

ஆழம் புரிந்தேன், 

பொதுத் தேர்வின்  ஆயத்தம் போது 

புத்தகத்தின் நடுவில் காதல் - 

என்ன இது?! என்று அம்மா சீற, 

- எப்படியோ சமாளித்து ஓடியதும் 

பின் சகதோழியிடம் மறைத்து 

அவர்களிடம் பிடிபட்டு - "ஆம்!"

'நான் தான் ' - சிரித்து ஓடியது ஒரு காலம்!

கல்லூரியின் பேருந்து பயணங்கள் 

காதலுக்கு ஏற்ற நேரமாக மாற, 

அடித்தும் சிரித்தும் - அது 

மிக ஆழம் பெற, 

பின் சற்றே தைரியமாக, 

தோழிகளிடம் கூற - அது 

கல்லூரி பத்திரிகையிலும் 

அறிவிப்பு பலகையிலும் பதிவு பெற, 

ஆம்! நான் தான் - எதார்த்தமாக கூறியது 

ஒரு காலம்!

நண்பர்கள் பிறந்த நாட்களில், 

வாழ்த்து அட்டையோடும் பரிசோடும் 

முடிந்த வரை காதல் பரிமாற்றங்களும்... 

கல்லூரியின் இறுதியில் 

என்னை பலவாறாக எண்ண வைத்தது 

இது சாத்தியமா? நெடு தூரம் தொடர முடியுமா?

'இடைவெளி தூரமானால் 

காதலும் சற்றே சன்னமாகி விடும்'

புதிய வேலை, பயணங்கள் - சற்றே இடைவெளி! 

வெகு நாட்கள் இல்லை, 

அயல் நாட்டு பயணங்களின் தனிமை உரைத்தது - அந்த பிரிவு! 

இணையத்தின் மூலம் புதுப்பித்து 

உயிர்ப்பித்து பேரன்பாகி, 

புதிய கோணங்களில் வாழ்ந்தும் ரசித்தும் 

- மிக நெருக்கமான அனுபவம்! இன்றும் தொடர்ந்து... 

ஒரு நாள் எனது காதலை 

உலகமே மெச்சும் -  நானே சொல்லி கொண்டேன்!

உடனே பார்த்தாக வேண்டும் - அன்று 

நேரத்தை காரணம் கூறலாம் - இன்று 

புதிய பந்தத்தை தேர்ந்து எடுத்ததும் 

தெரிய படுத்தியது - எனது முதற்காதலையே... 

இன்றும் என் துணைக்கு புரியாத புதிர் -

எனது 'காதல் மொழி'!

அடுத்தடுத்த சூழல்களில் சற்றே 

மறந்தே போனேன் ... 

எனினும், 

சிந்தனையை விட்டு 

மறையவில்லை, 

இன்றும் நான், அந்த 

முதற்காதலான "கவிதையோடு"...!

               - உலக கவிதைகள் தின வாழ்த்துக்கள்!!!!!

Alex in Dubai

What a show! It’s been long time since I laughed continuously non-stop for 2 hours. 

One man with multiple personalities - musician, stand up comedian, performing artist and still a humble, simple and down to earth person. - மொத்தத்தில் ஒரு அருமையான கலைஞன். 

May be it’s been 2 years I started knowing about his shows through social media. As an admirer, I loved each and every aspect of his skills by seeing his stand up comedy videos, knowing how he takes his passion and interest further than what he was doing before. 
As most of us and me being one who had done engineering first and then find and still work towards what gives us happy and satisfying path, he also went through that. In very less time I found something unique in him. But I had never seen his shows live and I was waiting for a chance.

Four months back, when I decided to model particular skill for my work, with no doubt he came to my mind. I tried reaching him; immediately he responded and helped me right back in his busy schedule with what he could. I was so much pleased by his simplicity and humbleness.
Later, thanks to his very early information regarding his Alex in Wonderland show in Dubai; that was a great surprise and because of which I had an opportunity to watch his show live today. Thanks to him!

Live show was an awesome experience! Laughter to the core! What an energetic performance?!! He is a great musician and what a throw in his voice? In this modern world, still there is a person who can entertain us through harmonium and other simple musical instruments?!
And I think music is just like breathe inside him! 
Comedy without performance, performance without singing, singing without performance – I don’t think these are separable from him!
He brings out variety in music, variety in singing voice, mimic voice, performing artist everything. He is a package. Look for messages too!

How can I not be getting loved with his Tamil?  
அந்த கணீர் குரல், தமிழ் வார்த்தைகளின் உச்சரிப்பு, முக்கியமாக பழைய பாடல்களில் அதே சுவையை அந்த உச்சரிப்பால் மட்டுமே கொண்டுவர முடியும் - அருமை!
It’s been some time in recent days I had interacted with people with such a clear Tamil pronunciation. 

Yesterday when I was unwell, I was little sad that I could miss his show and meeting him in Dubai. But then I always believe – 'what we think what we become' and 'As our mind, our body is', I was feeling better today morning and by afternoon I was even better to move out. And I know if I could go there, then I will come out well as I always believe laughter as a great medicine without which many illness lies within body and mind.

When he recognized me today after the show with our previous conversations, gratefulness is what he showed up back. 

Thanks to the show where I met one of my friend ever since we became friends, more than 10 years lol :)
